Cardiometabolic & Lifestyle Medicine
Lifestyle Medicine is a branch of healthcare focused on using evidence-based lifestyle modifications to prevent, manage, and even reverse chronic diseases. It emphasizes interventions such as healthy eating, physical activity, stress management, restorative sleep, avoidance of risky substances like tobacco and excessive alcohol, and positive social connections. The goal is to address the root causes of disease by promoting long-term sustainable health behaviors.
What we do in the Cardiometabolic & Lifestyle Medicine Clinic.
At One Health, we offer lifestyle medicine appointments for patients interested in improving their blood sugar, blood pressure, weight, and more through changes in eating, moving, sleeping, and stress reduction. Our goal is to improve your metabolic health without medication—and even stop medication! We achieve this through personalized lifestyle modification with discussions from Dr. Gorsuch on whole food plant-based eating patterns and Dr. Calkins focusing on low-carbohydrate ketogenic diets.

“My favorite part of my job is the relationship that I get to build with my patients….We have laughed and cried throughout the years and shared in all the ups and downs that life throws at us.” – Dr. Gorsuch
Dr. Gorsuch discovered in medical school that OB/GYN would allow her to practice primary care and develop her surgical skills. That’s why it was the perfect path for her. She also liked that she could foster relationships with her patients and study conditions that lead to disease. It’s no surprise Dr. Gorsuch became an OB/GYN doctor when she feels delivering babies is “a total blast!”
From infertility counseling and maternity to complex conditions and surgery, Dr. Gorsuch enjoys the full scope of OB/GYN care. She focuses on the “whole patient” and loves finding the right treatment whether it be surgery, medicine or lifestyle changes. She’s also certified in weight management and wants to help her patients live healthier lives.
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Gorsuch can be found spending time with family or caring for her horses. She’s an avid equestrian and has been competing since she was a child.

My name is Matt Calkins. I completed my undergraduate degree in physics and attended medical school at the University of Florida. Go gators! When I am not working, I can be found hiking, lifting weights, or spending time with my family. I am doing urgent care full-time and I have a pilot metabolic health clinic for One Health patients where I focus on low carbohydrate ketogenic diets, exercise, sleep, and stress mitigation to improve metabolic health, including weight loss, blood sugar, and blood pressure, and deprescribe medications.
