One Health Provider Recruiting FAQs

Schedule

Full time physicians have a patient contact hour expectation of 36 hours per week.  Most providers work 4 days per week excluding call responsibilities.

Pay

One Health provides competitive, market-based Provider compensation that is based on the Atrium Health One Health Professional Services Agreement (PSA).  The OH PSA is a wRVU model.

Benefits

Physician benefits are provided by OH Leadership.  We offer medical, dental and vision insurance.  In addition, we provide Long-Term and Short-Term disability and Life Insurance.

Physicians have the opportunity to contribute to a 401(k) plan.  Company matches are available as well.

APP and team member benefits are provided by Atrium Health.  APPs have money allotted for CME from Atrium Health.

One Health is a for-profit entity. We do not qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

Value Based Care Reimbursements

Money earned by One Health providers is pooled together and then disbursed based on the input of the physician leadership team, or Integrative Governing Board (IGB).

CME

For OH Physicians, CME is an individual expense.
For OH APPs, CME money is available through Atrium Health

Vacation

The OH standard for physician vacation is 20 days of vacation/sick time per year.  In addition, 5 days are allotted for CME.

APP and Team members accrue PTO through AH based on years of experience.

Provider Malpractice

The OH Leadership professional liability coverage is written with a claims-made coverage trigger. This means the policy in effect at the time a claim is first reported to the insurance carrier.

The policy also has a “pre-funded” tail coverage feature paid for by the Practice. This means that when the Agreement with the provider is terminated, no tail coverage is required.

When a new provider is added to OH Leadership, the OH policy begins.  And, when the provider is removed from the policy, the tail coverage is in place automatically.

The OH policy does not pick up prior acts before employment with OH Leadership. So, an incoming provider must demonstrate to the Practice that, where applicable, tail coverage has been obtained from the prior carrier.

The NC Statute of Limitations is 3 years for a claim, unless patient is a minor which is 10 years.

Medical License Fees

Practice reimburses for medical license fees, DEA fees, board certification fees (i.e. ABOG or ABFM).  The provider will pay the fees and then get reimbursed.  The Practice does not pay for membership dues to organizations not required for board certification (i.e AAFP or ACOG).

Moving Expenses

If moving from more than 50 miles from the practice of employment, you may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $10,000 of moving expenses.  Save receipts for reimbursement after employment begins.

Call Coverage

For FM, IM and Pediatric Providers, there will be call responsibilities determined by their market.

For OB/GYN Providers:

OB/GYN providers share call.  At this time, there is a laborist that covers eight 24-hour shifts per month.  The remaining providers cover the remaining shifts split equally.  Provider is not in clinic while on call. Providers have all post-call days off.  Provider will not do clinic/surgery post-call.

Onboarding and Mentoring

OH has an onboarding program for all new providers.  Providers will attend one 3 hour session monthly for 3 months after their employment begins.

In addition, all new providers will be assigned a mentor from One Health (outside their primary practice if possible) to be there for questions, concerns, advice, etc.

OB specific Mentoring

For the first six months, an experienced back up physician will be present for all major cases and cesarean sections, regardless of the time of day/night.  This mentorship will be available after the six months for as long as provider needs it or until provider feels comfortable with major cases/cesarean sections.  All major cases are done with another physician indefinitely unless she desires assistance from a physician assistant.

Moonlighting

We allow moonlighting as long as it does not interfere with One Health work time/call.  Moonlighting activities need to be cleared by practice and OH Leadership.
